Veyo Pool

During the 4th of July weekend we were able to spend the afternoon in Veyo. It is always fun!

Preston caught more crawdads and Carlee got her first real taste of ice cream. She loved it!

Gunlock Rodeo

As you can see it was another great year at Gunlock. A few calf rides, a few sno cones, a few hot dogs and a whole lot of crawdads! I wasn't kidding ya when I said our summer obsession was crawdads! :) Gavin and dad roped and they even won a little money, not bad for two that didn't even practice. Addie rode the horse without bawling, she might just be a cowgirl yet!

Good Times!

Swim Lessons

I love Tiff's swim lessons. I am so glad she came back for the summer and did them. The peace of mind I gain from swim lessons, is priceless. Look at Preston diving off that rock! Wow! Addie is starting to get the hang of it too. So fun!

Crawdads

Crawdads, Crawdads, Crawdads.

It has been a summer obsession.

But, is there anywhere better for a little boy to be, than down at the creek makin' memories?

I don't think so.

Goodbye Grandma

I keep trying to imagine the reunion that took place in heaven just a few short days ago. I know her parents plus lots more were there to greet and welcome her home. I am sure she is having one big celebration right this very minute.

Yes, my Grandma went home.

She has been ready for some time now, but sometimes dying isn't easy. I bet she is so happy to see Wendy, her daughter she lost that was just a day old. Yes, I just keep trying to imagine all this, to help the hurt in my heart ease, I know it will soon.I am so thankful for the my knowledge of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of it I know I will see her again, and our reunion will be sweet.

She was like a second mom to me, and lived right next door. She brought us our mail everyday, she waited for me at the bus stop, and drove me anywhere I wanted to go.

She made a mean cheese quesadilla, fried egg and tomato sandwich. There was always a pack of Big Red on her counter and Dreamsicle's in the freezer.

You could always find Mash playing on her TV and the A/C running full speed.

She loved animals, and watered all the horses everyday. Sometime I would help her, I have many memories down in the barn Grandma.  She always had a tissue stuck in her pants ready to wipe my nose at a moments notice.

She was a beautiful special Grandma, I am so thankful she was mine.

I love you Grandma.

9 Months

Wow, Carlee is 9 months old! Kind of hard to believe...

9 Months

16 lbs 2 ozs
27 1/4 inches

Carlee is done nursing, and she loves the bottle. The transition was really easy. I kind of lost my milk, so I think she loved the formula because she was starving! She also loves all vegetables/fruit. I found this baby food that I can just squeeze into her mouth (or attach a spoon onto the end) which I love!! We have tried all kinds broccli, pear and pea, sweet potato, pumpkin, apple and blueberries, quite the combo's huh?! She loves them all. I buy them at Diapers.com, why didn't I use this earlier? Looove it! Carlee now rubs her hair while she sucks her thumb, hope she doesn't rub it out! I try to put a blanket in her hand, but she just drops it and starts rubbing her head. Funny funny girl! She still takes two naps a day and sleeps through the night. (Cue the angles singing! :)) She has had the rash under her eyes for about a month now. It looked like a sunburn, then it got blotchy. I showed Tim and he got us some medicine. Hopefully it will take it away soon. She poops at least twice a day, lovely. She is army crawling and putting everything she can find in her mouth. She waves bye bye. She says mamama and dadadada. She looks when you call her name. She loves attention and flaps her arms up and down when you talk to her. She is SO SO happy pretty much all the time. I am so thankful Heavenly Father sent me this sweet little spirit. She truly makes our lives so much better. We love you Carlee!

Father's Day

{My Father's Day Card}

Father's Day was a good one this year! We had a good time making Gavin breakfast in bed, giving him a "Pop" and a little gift (shirt/shorts) from all of us. This year I had the opportunity to speak in church too! ;) It turned out fine, and we even made it to church 10 minutes early. Miracles never cease! :)

Bradi, Aubrey and I decided to make dinner for Dennis after church. We ended up having Grandpa and Grandma Frei along with Bryce and Vicki with us. It was a nice to be surrounded by family. I think Gavin enjoyed it. We popped in and gave Grandpa Bowler and Grandpa Reber a card, then headed up to Grandpa Randy's. We ended the night with a visit to Grandpa Ken's where we made smores.  It was a good/busy Father's Day. I just hope the Father's in our lives know how much we love and appreciate them. Their all so good to us, and we're very thankful for them. Especially Gavin, the Father in our home. He is my rock, I love him so much. Happy Father's Day!

Moment's Notice

This summer has had a lot of "Moment's Notice" adventures. In fact we just got back from one this weekend. If I was caught up on this beautiful blog I would be telling you about it, but I'm not, so you will just have to wait. :) Luckily you get to hear about our first "Spur of the Moment" trip to the Manti Pageant.

On June 16th Landon received an invitation to play with the Marshall's the next day in a tournament. We decided to take him up for the day to play. What else do we have to do on a Friday? Right?! :) It was fun day hanging out with friends and being at the ball field. The Marshall's won the first and lost the second so we were done earlier than we had planned. We were on the road heading home and as we were passing through Nephi on a "Moment's Notice" we took the exit and that headed to Manti. We decided to go watch the Manti Pageant. I had never been and Gavin knew I had always wanted to see it, so we were on our way! Dennis and Jake were in Richfield at a ball tournament so they met us there. It was a great production. I left with a feeling of gratitude for those who came before and a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ my Savior. I am really glad we went. Preston loved the 2,000 Stripling Warriors and Addie loved seeing Christ with the children. She even stayed awake through the whole thing. Landon on the other hand asleep on Jake's lap right at the beginning. Baseball must have worn him out! :) When we pulled into our garage at 2:30 am Gavin and I felt like we had been run over by a truck, but it was worth it! We decided if we go again, we will for sure find a hotel and bring some bug spray!

Manti = Mosquito's! If you know what I mean... :)

Rec Center

 June 16, 2011

I think swimming should have been apart of our our bucket list, it would have been checked off a lot this summer! We spent the afternoon at the Rec Center pool with Bradi and the Girl's Day bunch. It's such a fun pool with plenty to do for everyone! I think Addie would have loved the slide, except her first experience she and Grandma Katie got drenched by the big bucket... that ended that! Carlee loved it, she splashed and splashed. She also kept trying to dunk her head, she is such a funny girl! It has been nice this year knowing Preston and Landon can swim good. I think if I put a life jacket on Addie, I could take all the kids swimming by myself. That is a big relief for me, because I am miss paranoia when it comes to the pool. All in all, it was a fun time at the pool, hopefully we can go back soon.

Backyard Camp Out

This year we made a Summer Bucket List...

Do you see the first item on it?

6/15/2011
Check! Sleep in a Tent...done!

I have never had a backyard camp out before, but I will be doing it again for sure! We BBQ'd and ate dinner outside (then I took the dishes and washed them inside!)  We roasted marshmallows  and made perfect (with the microwave inside) smores!  Gavin told a Ghost story (while Carlee was inside sleeping in her crib!) that even made me jump. Then we (Gavin took one for the team and went inside to listen for Carlee ;)) all went to sleep. Next year I will be the one inside and Gavin will be in the tent listening to the neighbor's A/C unit! The next morning, I ran inside and got the milk and cereal. No cooler's with melting ice needed! :)

See, backyard camp out's are fantastic!

The kids even found a frog. A perfect find, for our nature night! They caught him and with that we were able to not only check off, sleep in a tent, but catch frogs and make smores!

The bucket list is going to be great this summer, I can feel it!

Nature Camp

Preston and Zac went to Nature Camp the first week in June. He loved it! He is all about making things and learning about nature. Their team even won the challenge that took place all week. Way to go Preston!!

Addie's Pink Bike

When you are the third child and want a bike, your parent's aren't going to buy you a new bike you get a hand-me down. The only problem is when your siblings ahead of you are boys, the bike is going to be green! Addie wasn't really diggin' the green, but thankfully she has an uncle that can paint! Check out her new pink bike!

She was a happy girl, after she saw it was pink! In fact, the next morning when she woke up she asked "Mom, will you take me to the garage, so we can make sure my bike is still pink?"

Thanks Uncle Lex!

Kanab Heat Stroker

Kanab Heat Stroker in Pictures...

Great games! Great weather!

Snail anyone? Preston must have collected 80+...Yuck!

Good Times!

New Babysitter

Just have to give a shout out to my Dad. He has become my babysitter lately and I really appreciate him. When I was at Girls Camp and Gavin was at ball practice he (with the help of Addie) even changed Carlee's messy diaper! Then he walked them down to Grandma's, where my Mom was tending her because of shoulder surgery. I was impressed, to say the least!

Thanks Dad, don't know what I would do without you.

Warrior Baseball

Landon played with the 8u Warriors at the RMSB Memorial Day Tournament in Alpine. The boys did good, coming away with two W's. We went up a day early and watched SCHS Baseball at State. It was a fun atmosphere to be apart of. They are a great group of boys, the kind you want your son's to emulate.  They played tough and came up just short of the state trophy.

Jake came up and met us on the second day. He reluctantly made a few friends while he was with us. We had fun giving him a hard time! :)

Such a cute group of boys!

Last Day of School

School's out! The boys had a great year. Both had super teacher's and learned a lot. Here is to a fun summer, full of sleeping in, catching crawdads, swimming and more!

8 Months

Carlee 8 Months
Teeth have finally appeared! Carlee loves to bit, and now it hurts! She is starting to figure out how to sit up by herself. She is really content sitting on the floor with a couple of toys in front of her. Carlee makes happy noises all day long. I think she just wants to be heard amongst all the noise. The only time we don't love her squealing is at church! She has been in the car seat a lot this month, because of school programs, dance recitals, and baseball games... she doesn't seem to mind, luckily she can take a  great nap in it! She finally moved to a size 3 diaper. She now sits in the shopping cart without her car seat and loves it.

This is one smiley happy baby, and we can't seem to get enough of her! Love you Cars!

Landon's Birthday

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that this boy is 9. It is crazy to think that in 9 more years he will be all grown up and hopefully somewhere in a far away place teaching people about the gospel. Time really needs to slow down from here on out. The first 9 has gone way to fast! I love him so much, and even though sometime we have our moments... he is a pretty dang good kid.

All he wanted to do for his birthday was go to Samurai 21. He had been planning it since the fall. I couldn't have been happier with the idea! We had a family party the night before, and then on his big day we went to Samurai. It was great, he even caught the shrimp!

Happy Birthday Landon! I love you. Thank you for being apart of our family. You are one of a kind boy, that I don't know what I would do without.

Two Much Fun

Tuesday has become Addie's favorite day of the week. All I ever hear is "Mom, is it dance day? or "Is it dance day today?" or "Mom, when is it dance day?" Monday nights she goes right to bed very excited, because she knows when she wakes up it is dance day! She loves the baby doll dance, butterfly dance, teddy bear dance, well I now I think about it, I guess she loves them all! My favorite was the mop dance. It was to the song "It's the Hard Knock Life" from Annie. It was so cute! (We came right home and downloaded it, now she sings it all the time.)

It was fun to watch her do all the dances she talks about all the time. She grinned and danced so cute. I don't know who was smiling more, me or her! I couldn't have been prouder, she was a doll!

Then she sang to her daddy...
"I have a date...Yes I do..."
"He is tall & handsome, too"
"I have a date and Daddy it's you!"

This class really was "Two much fun" just like its name.

Mother's Day

I have many Mother's in my life that help me so much. I don't know what I would do with out my own Mother, she is always there when I need her with a shoulder to cry on, or laugh on for that matter! She is a great mom, and I feel blessed to call her Mother.  That being said... I had a great Mother's day. We were able to spend a little time with my mom and Gavin's. It was nice.

This year I decided I didn't want to spend $4.99 on a card that will get thrown away. So, I made my own Mother's Day Cards. I printed this picture then glued it to cardstock and wrote my own personal message inside. It was perfect. I think this will be how I create Mother's/Father's Day cards from now on. That way they at least have an up to date photo of our family and it cost me under a dollar. :)

Field Day

Field Day is the boys favorite day of the school year. They love being outside, racing and having fun. They did great, both came home with lots of ribbons!

7 Months

Carlee 7 months
Still no teeth, just a little gummer! She is sitting up better by herself. She loves food and is still nursing great. She pulls my hair and pinches my skin while she nurses. I can't wear necklaces anymore because she pulls and breaks them. It's a good thing I don't wear long earrings! I took her back to the doctor and she gained another pound, so I think she will be fine. She's just mini little bundle. We love her to pieces.

My Little Leaguer

My "Little Leaguer" Preston had a great season! He loved everything about baseball this year. He loved practicing, hitting, catching and just playing the game. I think he was excited it was finally his turn to play, instead of watching his older brother! He did awesome! He is counting down the days until fall, when he can start to play baseball year round. It's going to be fun.

Great Season Little Leaguer!!
