I am still in shock that this is happening on Saturday... I really can't believe it. I have been putting everything off for this. It must be because I am just not ready for him to grow up and be accountable. I know he is ready, it is just.. I'm not.

Just What the Doctor Ordered!
I got back a week ago from a great girls weekend! It was just what Dr. Gloom ordered...less stress and more rest! (It did work too, because this week when I went to my doctor appointment, the baby was doing a lot better! Maybe every weekend should be a girls weekend! :)) Anywhoo, back to the weekend.
Day 1 started off by hitting the road and heading to Viva Las Vegas! We checked in to the Worldmark (Thank you Bradi!) and the headed to the Strip for yummy dinner at PF Changs. After dinner we went back to the hotel and played Charades. Oh My, is all I have to say. There were a few that won't be forgotten like, Yellow Submarine, Band of Brothers, and Sesame Street and last but not least Hump Moon, better known as Honeymoon! Ha..ha :)
Day 2 was full of shopping! I was lucky enough to get a makeover from a transvestite named Vanessa. (Only in Vegas!) She/he was really nice and I ended up buying a lot of makeup all of which I love. It was a fun day and the yellow purse I bought made it even better!
We then headed to Phantom. Wow is the best way I can describe it. I had seen it a long long time ago and couldn't hardly remember anything, but the music. We had amazing seats right below the chandelier, and when it started to fall, I said a few choice words. Sorry Jess! The whole play was incredible, the 90 minutes went by in a flash and I left wanting more. It was the highlight of the trip for sure.

Day 3 was R&R by the pool. I can't tell you how long it has been since I sat by the pool for 6 hours and didn't have to worry about someone drowning or burning. I probably should have worried a little more about someone burning, and that someone was ME! My shoulders are still peeling. Floating along in the lazy river was perfect, because it was definitely a lazy day.
We finished our trip/day with a stop at the Vegas sign, and dinner at Cheesecake. Miso Salmon was the perfect way to end the perfect weekend. I had a great time, I loved all the laughing, and relaxing. Thanks girls it was a weekend not to be forgotten. Can't wait to go again!
Good Times, Good Times!

Kanab Heat Stroker.. (Literally)
The Sliderzz have started their summer with the big W! They are the Kanab Heat Stroker 8u Champs! It was a fun tournament. The first night after our game we had a BBQ at the park with the team, and then headed back to our hotel and played more baseball on the lawn. On Day 2 after the games, the boys jumped in the pool and had a blast. I am still trying to decide who had the most fun, Gavin or the boys?! ;) On Saturday (Day 3) we had to win to play in the Championship game. The boys did great against Kanab and then came back and beat the Cedar Crush for the title. Saturday had to be the hottest day on record so far this summer and all you had to do was look at my ankles to prove it! Ha..ha! :) It was great to get away and play a little baseball too.

It's a Girl!
I can't believe we are having another little girl. I am thrilled, Gavin is in shock! We found out in April, I just haven't blogged about it. I get to have an ultra sound ever month, which is fun. The only problem is the day I have the ultra sound I also find out about all the crazy things my body is doing because of my high blood pressure. It is always exciting to see my baby girl in my tummy, but after I talk to the Doctor I leave there feeling like a big dark cloud is hanging over my head. It could be because he gives me all the "what if's: and "could happen," which is not very fun to think about. That is why I haven't been that excited to blog about it. I have mixed emotions about the whole pregnancy. Bottom line is, I just don't love being pregnant. I am moody, and sick, and tired, and emotional, and, and, and... (Ask Gavin, he will tell you it has been rough! :))
The good news is my blood pressure is perfect because of the medicine, and as of today our little baby girl is growing and developing great. I still have to go see Dr. Gloom once a month and then more often as the delivery gets closer. I am thankful for him, he is keeping me and this little baby girl healthy and that is all that matters.

Memorial Day 2010
In the afternoon on Memorial Day I decided to take the kids to the cemetery and explain to them why we have Memorial Day. They loved that we flew our American Flag and that there were Flags lining the streets, but they didn't understand why. As we pulled into the Cemetery with our flowers they were a little confused. We found Grandma Shelton's grave and I explained that Memorial Day was the special day given to us to remember those that have passed on. It was also to remember all the soldiers that lost their lives so we can live in such a beautiful safe place. They liked looking at Grandma Shelton's headstone, and putting the flowers by it. Then Preston found my Great Grandma Lilla right next to her, completely by accident. It was neat that both Grandma's headstones were right next to each other. It is a small world we live in somedays.
I think I will make visiting the cemetery on Memorial Day a new tradition for our family. Knowing where we came from always helps us remember who we are.

Zion's
On the Saturday morning of Memorial Day Weekend, I woke up and realized we had nothing on the schedule to do. That was amazing.. Gavin was out moving cattle with his dad, so we hadn't planned anything. I happened to call Katie (Gavin's mom) and she was headed to Zion's for the weekend with Bradi and her family. She invited us to come along for the day, so we loaded up and headed to Zion. It was a fun day all on the spur of the moment! We hike to the Lower Emerald Pool which turned out to be a puddle, so we kept going to the Middle Emerald Pool and that turned out to be water running over rocks. The kids got all wet which was fun until they slipped... then we hiked back. I had never taken my kids to Zion, and after being there for the day I know I need to take them back. It was a great day filled with the beauty of the earth, exercise, not to much fighting or crying, and lots of smiles.

Welcome Summer!
It is here! We can hardly believe it, summer break has arrived. Excited doesn't even begin to explain how we feel. Bring on the sun and fun!
This is how we welcomed in the break, picture taken at 9:30 am on 5/28/2010
He did it!
He did it! Preston made it through Kindergarten! It wasn't easy, but he completed it. Reading, writing and concentrating are not his favorite things. He likes to write his numbers backwards and flip d's for b's, but on his end of the year test he wrote ALL his numbers correctly and read his book like a champ. It was a huge accomplishment. I was so proud of him. We both know that 1st Grade isn't going to be easy, but with a little extra effort he can do it!

Happy Birthday Landon!
Landon is 8! I can't believe it. He had a super day filled with a donut for breakfast, a huge blowup water slide, cake, friends, family, gifts and at least 4 hours spent at the park. It was lots of fun, I hope he remembers it for a long time.
I am so proud of the boy he is growing up to be. Just the other day he spent all his "Cougar Bucks" on a little toy purse for his sister. I couldn't believe it when he got in the car after school, he had been saving those "Bucks" since January. (It is the way his teacher rewards her students.) It took all 100 that he had. When he gave it to his sister, she was so happy and I was so proud. I love you Landon, Happy 8th Birthday!
