SUSC had a Flag Football Camp. They boys went from 9:30 - 12:00 each day. They had a lot of fun making new friends, hanging out with old ones, and learning a little about the sport of football. We all are looking forward to Football season coming in September!

Father's

It is the last day of June, so figured I had better hurry and pay tribute to the great men in my life before the month is over! Father's Day is always a busy one at our home. We have so many great guys that we need to see, it is almost impossible to fit it into one day. This year Gavin's Dad Dennis had all the Frei Family come to his new home for a fun BBQ. Nick brought his guitar and played while the dinner was grilling. I think Grandpa and Grandma Frei really enjoyed having a lot of their family around them. Dennis really knows how to throw a party, he had steaks, and chicken plus shrimp skewers that were really good. It was fun for him to have a new home that will fit our whole family. All the kids can go downstairs and play ping pong and rough house while the adults can enjoy each other upstairs. It worked out great and was a good time.

We then headed to see my Dad. I love my Dad and don't know what I would do without him. Even today he saved my life, my car battery died last night. We figured this out at 10:00 pm while we were trying to leave Katie and Ken's house. Gavin left for Nevada at 6:00 am this morning, so my Dad met me at their house at 10:00 am today, took the battery out, replaced it with a new one and sent me on my way. Man, what would I do without him. He dropped everything he was doing and came to my rescue. I love him so much. 

Back to Father's Day, our last stop was to Ken's house. We are so happy, he is doing so well after his stroke. He is completely back to normal and going go get the little tiny hole in his heart fixed tomorrow in SLC. We are praying everything goes well and he can be 100% in a few days. We truly are blessed that he is here today. 

Last but definitely not least is the Father of my children, Gavin. The boys and I made him breakfast on Father's Day. They had a lot of fun, helping mix the Orange Juice and set the table. I want Gavin to know, he is a better Father than I even imagined. He loves each one of them so much and really spends quality time teaching them important life lessons. I love him and hope he had a great Father's Day, because I loved spending the whole day with him.  

Little Fish

Landon and Preston love when it is time for swimming lessons with Tiffany. The night before it started Preston kept asking, now when do we go? Can we go right now? I swear the boy could hardly sleep, because he was so excited to go swim with Tiff! She does a great job with the kids and teaches them a lot. Landon has really turned into a little fish this year! Hooray!  He is having a great time swimming and jumping off everything. He is even learning how to dive! Very exciting!!  Preston is coming along, we just now have to teach him to get his bum UP, he seems to sink a lot. I know he will get it very soon. The crazy thing to me is it seems like we were just at swimming lessons LAST YEAR! Crazy how time goes, and on that note... 

I have been blogging for a YEAR. Happy Birthday FreiFam blog! It has been a great journey, one I continue to enjoy. I love the friends I have made, the lost friends I have found and the friends and family I can keep track of through this little cyber neighborhood. The books I create and the journal I keep for our family has really added so much to my life. I know I sound crazy but, really I just love blogging. Thanks for all who read about our family happenings, good or bad! I love you all, and I especially LOVE the ones who leave comments! ;o) Here is to another great year of FreiFam! 

Signs of Summer

Summer is here and in full swing! The weather has been BEAUTIFUL these last few weeks. 80-90 degree weather, makes it hard to believe that is is June 20th! Isn't it great?! I love summer and all that goes along with it.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

A week ago Grandma Katie celebrated her... 29th birthday! ;o) I just wanted to wish her a great year and let her know that she means the world to all of us. Here are a few things about Katie that you might not know:

1. She donated part of her liver to a little girl named Alondra. She lives in Los Angelos and had liver failure until Katie came along. Alondra is doing wonderful, she is now a healthy and happy 5 year old! The family still keeps in touch with Katie. 

2. She is a great Artist, she can draw or paint just about anything. 

3. She loves to vacation, and has seen a lot of this beautiful world we live in. 

4. When she puts her mind to something she get is done.

5.  She loves to decorate, and her home is always looking beautiful.

Cubs Camp

The boys were able to attend the BYU Cubs Basketball Camp. It was held the first week in June. Originally we had only signed up Landon, but when we got there realized that 5 year olds could attend. We quickly signed Preston up. He was thrilled to say the least! (So were his parents, who would not have to entertain him for 3 hours a day while his brother was playing b-ball!) He was in his flip-flops so he had to start the camp with those while we ran to the hotel and picked up his basketball shoes, luckily we had packed them. He had on some soft shorts with pockets and by the end of day we took note that he desperately need basketball shorts WITHOUT pockets! His hands were in those pockets the whole time! How can you dribble with your hands in there?! Ask Preston he can tell you!  

The camp was a success Landon was able to win the Cougar Award on the first day, and Preston won the Hustle Award on the last day. It is amazing what he can do when his hands are out of those pockets! Way to go boys! 

Had to add a little ode to Budget 8! This is the Hotel we stayed at, it was right next to Cougar Stadium and walking distance from the camp. It had to have been the smallest room known to mankind! The bathroom was so small that two people couldn't be in it at the same time with the door shut. The toilet wouldn't flush half the time and the crib... well look at the picture below. The only plus was the pool was open 24 hours a day, and it was right next to Dairy Queen. We all had ice cream everyday. Well, that might not be a plus for the mother! ;o) 

See the picture of the kids? Yes this is how we felt about Budget 8 when we were finished! I will take the blame. Gavin wanted a better room, but I was trying to go economy. Note to self: Next time it might be worth the extra 30 bucks a night! Oh the memories... Good Times! 

The Best Gal Around!

My Mom is truly one of the best gals around. I don't know what I would do without her, she is always there with a listening ear, ready to help at a moments notice, and always thinking of others first. I wasn't in town on her birthday, but I want her to know I love her and so does Gavin, Landon, Preston and Addie. We couldn't ask for a better Mom, Grandma and most of all friend. Mom, Happy Birthday, hope your day was great. 

BirthWEEK! Have you ever heard of that?!?

Landon chose to go mini golfing on Tuesday for his birthday party. Since we had been in San Diego on his birthday and didn't get home until Monday evening, I told him he could only have a couple friends and they weren't going to bring him any presents. He was fine with that, he just wanted to go golfing. It was by far the easiest party I ever planned! I started calling kids at noon and the party was over by 6:00 that night. I bought some cupcakes and we called it good! Although, he must have some really super NICE friends, because they all ended up getting him a little present! They are all really cute boys. I am glad he has great friends. 
On Wednesday we had the family come over and have cake. This would have been the third time he was sung too! Like I said in the previous post Landon's birthday really turned into the birthWEEK!! He was spoiled and loved every minute of it! I am so proud of the boy he is growing up to be. I love you buddy. Happy 7th Birthday! 

Landon is SEVEN!

What better place can a 7 year old celebrate their birthday, than San Diego? The day was filled with perfect things for Landon to do. First Landon got to go swimming at 8:00 am! Then we took Grandpa and Dad to the Cubs game and we went to lunch at Denny's (we were a little lost and starving so we figured it would work!) After lunch we went to the harbor and checked out the big ship. The boys liked wearing the gear and pushing all the buttons in the airplanes. Then it was back to the hotel for more golfing. The day was finished with dinner at Outback and his very own desert. Aren't birthdays great?!  More posts to come about how Landon's birthDAY turned into a birthWEEK! But, it will have to wait.... we are leaving for the BYU Cubs basketball camp in the morning at 7:00 am. (time right now: 11:20 pm) I still haven't packed and have dishes in my sink. Crap! 

Just one more quick shout out... My mom's birthday is tomorrow, I won't be here so I am wishing her a very Happy Birthday! I love you mom, you really are the best. There will be a birthday post about this special woman, it will just have to be a few days late, and with the way I have been posting lately, that is pretty typical.  :) 

Life is a Beach!!

I know it is taking me FOREVER to post our trip. Like the saying goes "better late than never" right!? We spent Saturday at the La Jolla beach. It was great, thanks Erin for your advice. There was  a little cove,  a perfect place for the kids to swim and for Preston to find more snails, crabs and shells. I wish we lived closer to the beach, I could get used to hanging out there!
